Leave The Comfort-Zone

Why We Travel 2# To take one’s time

I went hiking last weekend and came across this frog. It just sat there in the middle of the forest, hanging out in the sun. Made me think of how we really take our time while we are travelling. Sit down on a plaza, time to have a beer, watch the people pass, celebrate bread and cheese like a four star meal. The dictionary defines “to take one’s time” as to “take more time to do something than is considered acceptable”. Just as Waiting..

Enjoy your weekend and take your time!

Coming Home – A reason to be scared?

Coming Home – A reason to be scared?

Coming home after travelling for me is special. On the one hand it means seeing friends and family again, sleeping in your own bed, back to the comfort zone. At the same time I miss the uncertainties that come up while we’re on the road, where to sleep&eat, talking to strangers and getting lost. Almost exactly two years ago I’ve been in Boston at the end of my round the world trip and wondered how its gonna be to be back home. As I walked to the subway with my friends we passed by the amazing Wheel Questions project. It’s an outdoor kiosk where you can write any question on a colored card and drop it in a kind of mailbox. Some of the questions we read were funny such as “How come I always bite my tongue” (and if you’re curious now because you have the same problem here is his answer =)) others were asking “What is the meaning of life“. The person running the project picks up the cards and writes answers on the backs. And at the end he uploads them to his blog. Here’s my question.
